Tucked in a small space at the second floor of SM Mall of Asia is a delightful dessert place called Mother's Crepe & Cafe serving crepes, milk tea and soft serve ice cream.
Mother's Crepe & Cafe or Mazazu Crepe is originally from Japan and is found in different countries in Asia. They serve sweet and savory crepes that are not only delicious but healthy too.
We chanced upon Mother's Crepe & Cafe one weekend while looking for something sweet after a heavy meal. They only have four tables so we had to wait fifteen minutes before we were seated. We spent that time deciding what to order from their extensive crepe and drinks menu.
This small area is where the crepe making happens. You can smell the heavenly batter from which the crepes are made. The crepes are freshly prepared upon order.
Once the crepe is formed, it is immediately fashioned into a cone with all the yummy fillings.
The finished product!
We tried the Almond Choco Banana which they claim is no. 1 in Japan and it was good. The crepe had a good texture and the chocolate used was not overly sweet. I just wished that the edges of the crepe was crispy though. Another good tasting variant was the Mango Crepe. I guess the abundance of mangoes here in Manila makes this variant quite popular.
Mother's Crepe & Cafe has a display of faux crepes so you have an idea what's inside their crepe offerings.
Their drinks line-up can rival that of a milk tea place. We tried the Iced Tea, Almond Tea, Mango Shake and Green Tea with Cheese. If you like strong brewed tea then you might prefer their tea drinks.
What came as a surprise was their soft serve ice cream. My friend's son ordered the raw vanilla ice cream which he said was pretty good.

Overall, Mother's Crepe & Cafe presents itself as dessert worthy particularly in the area of crepes and ice cream.
