Geisha - Bonifacio High Street Central

Japanese food is known to be synonymous to healthy eating.  Their dishes are always cooked with the freshest of ingredients, lightly fried, grilled or served raw. Geisha is the new addition to the growing number of Japanese restaurants here in the metro and it is located in Bonifacio High Street.

The restaurant interiors adhere to a contemporary style but still maintained a cozy atmosphere conducive to dining and talking among family and friends.

The female serving staff were dressed in Japanese garb similar to that of a Geisha, which was aesthetically pleasing.

Our drink of choice was the Goji Melon Tea which was served ceremoniously by a male serving staff.

It came in a glazed teapot with two matching cups, a transparent container which brews the tea and a tea timer with an option of 3, 4 or 5 minute brewing time. I was very interested in the tea timer and I am currently searching the metro for it.

Once you have reached your preferred brewing time, simply place the transparent teapot on top of the cup and the tea comes out. The Goji Melon Tea was a refreshing choice and we especially liked its fruity taste.

Voila!  Tea is served...

The Mixed Sashimi Salad was quite fresh. For a perfect bite, put a few greens mixed with a little sashimi on your fork then dip in the soy ginger dressing.

Their Florentine Maki consists of cream cheese, spinach, vegetarian chicken and pineapple. Of all these ingredients, the taste of the cream cheese stood out.  But it still is one of the best tasting Maki I have had in a while.

Out of curiousity, we ordered the Vegetable Gyoza.  Sadly, it was not to my liking.  I guess the taste of the miso infused broth in the vegetable gyoza was too overpowering.

The "Un-chicken" Yakitori is their vegetarian version of the usual chicken yakitori.  I really liked this dish.  The mock chicken meat was marinated well that it truly tasted like real chicken! The soba and vegetable sidings make for a complete entree. I recommend this if you are looking for a vegetarian option.

Overall, Geisha did not disappoint.  It was inherently Japanese with a side offering of vegetarian dishes.  We spent about 750 per person for lunch.  Prepare to spend more if you include sake and dessert to your meal.
