Marche - Plaza Senayan, Jakarta

This is my last post about Jakarta and I would like to share our unique dining experience at Marche, Plaza Senayan Mall.

Marche is a European themed restaurant popular in Jakarta as well as Singapore and other parts of Asia and Europe.

Marche is the originator of front cooking. This dining concept aims to serve its customers with the freshest ingredients cooked, baked or juiced when you order. Upon entry, you get a passport and that is where your orders are written.  Simply present the passport when you exit and the cashier computes your bill for you.

A similar concept operated in the late 1990s in Glorietta, Makati known as Streetlife. For some reason, it only lasted a few years.

Here are a few photos I managed to get...

We only stopped by for drinks and crepes since we just had lunch. The coffee they served was amazing! The crepe was as good as Cafe Breton. My honeydew lemon drink was so good that I had another serving!

It was a refreshing change to dine in a restaurant which transports you to Switzerland.

Sure hope this concept will reach our shores so we can have a taste of Europe right here in the metro.
